Well done England on a professional ODI series victory against Bangladesh. The Tigers might not be viewed by all as the toughest opponents and the visitors will certainly face sterner tests – but any Asian opposition on home soil is anything but a pushover.The victory today on a difficult pitch showed maturity in a young and developing team – the smash and grab approach was curtailed on this occasion – even Jos Butter managed slightly less than a run a ball in his innings. Intelligence, patience and nerves saw the side home.
Such a strong batting line up will always get the plaudits but the bowling too was disciplined and Adil Rashid is rapidly developing into one of the world’s leading limited overs performers. Any bowling attack that can leave out David Willey is one blessed with quality.
Although I respect the decisions that Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan made to sit this tour out they cannot expect to walk straight back into the side. Ben Duckett has come in and taken to international cricket like a…duck to… well you get the rest!
It’s good to see Ben Stokes back in the side as well – he brings balance to the team, chipping in with plenty of runs (he successfully saw England home today) and relatively economical bowling figures.
All in all I think there are exciting times ahead for this up and coming England side – with plenty of talent waiting in the wings.

One side not faring so well – and it pains me to say it (cough cough) is Australia. They’ve just had their you know whats handed to them by South Africa, the Proteas whitewashing them 5–0. South Africa are looking very good at present
